Tennessee Titans (9-7)

The Titans’ offense has improved dramatically with Tannehill, while running back Derrick Henry has elevated his play along the way. The Titans are 10th in the NFL with 25.1 points per game and 12th with 362.8 total yards per game. Tannehill has 2,742 passing yards and 22 touchdowns against just six interceptions in 12 games. As for Henry, he finished the regular season as the NFL’s top rusher with 1,540 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on 303 rushing attempts.

New England Patriots (12-4)

The second half of the season was not great for the Patriots, who are coming off a stunning 27-24 home loss to the Dolphins in Week 17. Against the Dolphins, Brady went 16 for 29 for 221 passing yards and two touchdowns with an interception that was returned by Miami for a touchdown. The Patriots’ defense will be key in the wild card. New England is no. 1 overall in scoring defense with just 14.1 points allowed per game. The Patriots’ defense has struggled against young quarterbacks who could run with the ball and while Tannehill isn’t a great runner, he is mobile enough to pick up first downs.

Titans vs Patriots Game Betting Predictions:

The Titans will be on the road at New England. The Patriots so called home field advantage didn’t mean much to the Dolphins last week and it will mean even less to a more talented Titans team. Tom Brady and the Pats offense has really been on a downward path for over a year. If you look at last years game you will notice Brady only went over on passing attempts prop bets and not passing yards or touchdowns. The Patriots just do not have the talent on offense to be a real threat to score over 30 against the Titans and even the mid twenties will be a struggle.

The Titans bring in a balanced offense with Tannehill showing signs of life now that he is no longer in Miami. With Derrick Henry running the ball and Tannehill passing the ball, the Titans will field a better offense than the Patriots. I like this game to stay close and a little ugly as both defenses should get several three and outs.

Bets: A two team 6 point teaser Titans +11 & under 50.5

Score Prediction: Patriots 23 – Titans 20
