Kansas City Chiefs
Prop Bet Preview & Picks

This game has the highest over/under in NFL history and should live up to that number. Patrick Mahomes is coming off a disappointing performance where he passed for just two touchdowns against the Cardinals. Mahomes has thrown for three or more touchdowns in 70% of his games this season and he will need to do that again to win this game.

Kareem Hunt will have a big day against a Rams defense that’s struggled all season against the run. Hunt plays 75%-80% of the snaps and that should be enough to get at least one touchdown. Spencer Ware plays the other downs and is a good receiver who can see several passing targets.

Which Chiefs receiver will have the big day, Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins (who is now trending towards the questionable/doubtful side) or Travis Kelce? Tyreek Hill’s home/road splits favor him playing on the road. Hill has the biggest upside potential because of the Mahomes does like the deep pass and the Rams can be burned if the quarterback can get away from their pass rush. Travis Kelce is the safest play because of the number of times he should be targeted. The big question at receiver is Watkins. If does not play then I really like Chris Conley to get a majority of his targets.

Los Angeles Rams
Prop Bet Preview & Picks

The Rams’ offense suffered a big loss last week when slot receiver Cooper Kupp was lost for the season. Quarterback Jared Goff has thrown for multiple touchdowns in four straight games and will need to again tonight if the Rams are going to win. The only worry I have about Goff getting touchdowns against the Chiefs is that Gurley is in such a good spot.

At running back, Todd Gurley has his best matchup of the season going against a Chiefs defense that ranks dead last in run DVOA. With Kupp out I can see some of those passing targets going to Gurley giving him the biggest upside of any player on the field. Targets this season: Gurley (53), Kupp (55).

Not all of Kupp’s targets will go to Gurley. Brandin Cooks and Robert Woods will both share in added targets in this shootout. Both have had double digit targets in games this season so the Rams are comfortable with going to either one. With Kupp out it is possible that both will get 10+ targets in this game. I expect the Rams to funnel more of the offense to Gurley, Cooks and, Robers instead of increasing targets to the secondary players (Tyler Higbee and Gerald Everett). The one exception is Josh Reynolds who will move into Kupp’s slot receiver role and did have a two-touchdown game a few weeks ago on just five targets. If you are playing fantasy football tonight – pick up Josh Reynolds for his touchdown upside.

Los Angeles Rams
Prop Bet Picks

Jared Goff Passing Yards OVER 321.5 (-110)
Jared Goff Touchdown Passes OVER 2.5 (-110)
Todd Gurley Rushing Yards OVER 105.5 (-110)

Expert NFL Betting Analysis and Score Prediction for Chiefs vs Rams

Back the Kansas City Chiefs to pick up the narrow win in an absolute thriller that almost certainly will come down to the final possession or two. Kansas City is 8-2 ATS this season while the Rams are just 4-5-1 ATS in 2018. Los Angeles has failed to cover the spread in each of their last three games while going 1-4 ATS over their last five and 1-5-1 ATS over their last seven. The Chiefs are a perfect 6-0 ATS in their last 6 road games against a team with a winning home record, a perfect 4-0 ATS n their last five games against a team with a winning record and 12-3 ATS in their last 15 games overall. The Rams are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games against a team with a winning road record, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS loss and 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record.
